I thought I was just posting about monsters because it was fun to research and tinker with them to surprise the players. Although I suppose I could just use Talislanta or something if it were just for the surprise factor.
Last weekend I attended a gaming mini-con where people bring in their unwanted gaming books for the free/swap tables. There was a lot of D&D 3.5 stuff, including Monster Manuals 1 & 2 for 3.5. I was curious and I thought my son would enjoy the art. I’ve heard that 4e is like an MMO with paper, but even these 3e books seemed to commoditize the monsters in a way that felt like they were extended player guides to an MMO. I just couldn’t connect.
Well, at least I got ’em for the art.
Then I got a good look at the art. I think I’ll hide them.
