Next year, the half-men will be brewing a sweet, malty brew they call Tanblon. This is short for “Wotan’s Blood,” so named as a tribute to the men of the northern kingdoms. Because the brewing of Tanblon includes freezing of the wert, only northern charters will brew this year. Hops farmers should note that Talblon uses little or no hops, so only proper men will be buying it to brew this year. It is advisable to hold back as much stock as possible for next year, when Bitterbarrel will be brewed.
Southern charters will have reserved a good deal of last year’s Milkyale to last until the first barrels of Tanblon have arrived. There is some concern that the current situation with the dead-men in Skaarsport may delay shipping, so expect the halfmen to be quite agitated come late spring and they are not likely to share Tanblon until there is enough surplus to sell. Proper men will likely be settling for brew made by their own kind until late summer at best. Genteel readers are cautioned against the strength of Tanblon, which is the strongest of the half-man brews.
Also, in accordance with half-men tradition, all half-man children born during the year will be given names that begin with the letter T. It is also a year of celebration for half-men with T-names, whose birth years were 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 years past, etc. Buying the first round for a Tarbull Stoutfellow would likely obligate the birthbrew chap to purchase several more rounds.
