Even among the gods there are victims. Vantus, for instance. He was famously subdued by the hero Eidivir when he was assigned to guard the gates to the underworld. Eidivir’s companion Alaf magically enslaved poor Vantus as he sat, beaten and confused.
The priests of the Confidence of Alaf belittle and abuse Vantus in their rituals and prayers, and the imprisoned god can only submit to their demands to silence the voices.
Confidants of Alaf disguise themselves as priests of other gods, sometimes rising high within the hierarchies of their apparent church. Their aim is to leverage their power over one god into power over two. They are a very secretive society for obvious reasons.
I just realized that this post is written in a style I honestly do not like. Opening up a post with the names of this place and that place usually puts me off to an otherwise good post and here I’ve done it!
